Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in that event earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an better serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a third set.

He defended 4 initial chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
